Ebony Holdings Donates COVID-19 essentials to the Ministry of Health & Sri Lanka Police

Ebony Holdings Pvt Ltd, well-known apparel manufacturers of popular menswear brands Vantage & Ebony executed its sixth social responsibility project for the year by donating corrugated coffin boxes to the Covid-19 Deceased victims – phase one which was held at the ministry of health today.

 

The event was graced by Hon Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and Covid19 Disease control, who received the goods from general manager for Ebony Holdings Mr. Sabir Hasheem and Head of Marketing Mr. Mohammed Musfir. Under the 1st Phase, the boxes are to be provisioned to key hospitals in the western province considering the number of death in the region.

 

In addition to this in aim to protect police officers who are in charge of civil security operations, reusable safety kits were donated to Sri Lanka police where Deputy Inspector General Sri Lanka Police for the western province Mr.A.G.J. Chandra Kumara received them officially from Ebony holdings representatives and granted them to selective police stations. Ebony Holdings also took an initiative to donate road traffic management equipment to Sri Lanka Police where it was distributed to those police stations by hand of the delegates.

 

Ebony Holdings has so far executed several CSR projects for the year to assist the present operation to retaliate the covid-19 pandemic. Earlier this year the company donated premium range of reusable facemasks to Sri Lanka Police & the Disaster Management Center (DMC) operating under the Ministry of Defense. Furthermore, public transportation awareness campaign to present Covid-19 was conducted together with Sri Lanka railway authorities, which had higher effectivity being aware of COVID-19 prevention. Later on, affiliation of Public Health Officials of the Colombo Municipal Council took place & another felicitation Complementing program was conducted for the medical official association (GMOA) sponsored by Ebony holdings with an adequate investment.

 

Adding comments post to the event, Hon Dr Sudarshini Fernandopulle – State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and Covid-19 Disease control appreciated the initiative of Ebony Holdings quoting that it was a need of highest regard assisting the present Covid-19 deceased requirements.

Furthermore, DIG for western Province Mr. A.G.J. Chandra Kumara appreciated the effort of Ebony Holdings for donating safety kits & traffic management equipment at this most important juncture where it is highly useful for the use of police operational routines. Chairman of Medina Holdings Mr. Faizal Marjan who was present as the honored guest for the event stated that It was a great initiative to present the donations to the Ministry of Health as well as Sri Lanka police who dedicate a great effort in serving civil operations during this challenging time period. Tokens of appreciation were handed over to the Honorable minister & also the DIG of Police for their leadership roles initiated to counter the present pandemic.

 

Adding to comments Mr. Mohammed Musfir – Head of Marketing for Ebony Holdings Pvt Ltd quoted that the company has always been thoughtful of sustainability gained by consistent involvement for socially responsible projects, he further notes that several other CSR projects are underway to support the present resistance of the pandemic where the organization believes provisioning for the needful at this crucial moment as an important corporate responsibility.
